On September 17, 2026, at the Russian House of International Scientific and Technical Cooperation a cultural and business evening was held. It brought together specialists, entrepreneurs, representatives of the expert community, partners and friends – all those for whom China has already become a part of their professional path, a subject of research interest or a promising direction for further development. A key event of the program was the intellectual “China-Themed Quiz”, which combined educational program, teamwork and introduction to China’s cultural traditions.
In her opening speech Yulia Soina, Head of the Department for Relations with China of the RH ISTC, highlighted that developing professional ties with China is not only about negotiations, markets, logistics routes and economic indicators. Behind every business interaction stand people, cultural codes, traditions, the language of communication and approaches for building trust. That is why cultural networking as a format that unites professional dialogue, intellectual interaction, joint research for new meanings and the interest in partner’s country, becomes an essential part of modern business communication. The deeper we understand China as a multifaceted cultural environment, the more effectively we can build dialogue and the more confident we can implement joint projects.
The Responsible Secretary of the Russian part of the Russian-Chinese Chamber, the Responsible Secretary of the Business Council for Cooperation with Mongolia of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, a member of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Committee on International Cooperation Pavel Ustyuzhaninov addressed the participants with welcoming words. In his report he emphasized the relevance of expending professional dialogue between Russian and Chinese business communities, as well as the importance of creating platforms where representatives of business, expert communities and development institutions can not only discuss practical cooperation issues, but also find new points of contact.

Mr. Shi Jinhui, Chaiman of the Russian Branch of the Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association, presented his vision for the future of Russian-Chinese economic cooperation. In his speech he paid attention to the sustainability of bilateral ties, the complementarity of the economies of Russia and China, as well as the role of digitalization, transport and logistics infrastructure and e-commerce in forming a new partnership architecture. Among the key drivers of bilateral cooperation, the expert noted energy sector, scientific and technological interaction and the development of transport and logistics infrastructure. Special attention was paid to the prospects of expanding the footprint of Russian marketplaces – Ozon, Wildberries and Yandex – in the Chinese market. This direction requires a complex work: from researching consumer behavior and characteristics of local digital platforms to establishing effective logistics, product adaptation and the development of partnership channels.
Before the start of the intellectual game the participants took part in the interactive “A Word About China” and jointly created a mind map of the country. Guests shared words, images and cultural associations, arising when mentioning China. The map reflected technology and history, the Great Wall of China and modern megacities, tea and national cuisine, dragons and pandas, Chinese writing and language, music, e-commerce, logistics, innovation and the future.
Intellectual game “China-Themed Quiz” was run by the author of thematic quizzes about China Veronika Seytkulova. The program included several thematic rounds with interactive tasks, logical questions, video and music blocks, dedicated to the history, culture, language, traditions and modern development of China. The participants checked and increased their knowledge, discussed given questions in teams, exchanged opinions and learnt new facts about partner-country. Quiz became a unifying part of the evening, creating conditions for meaningful informal communication, experience exchange, networking among participants and developing professional contacts.
