RH ISTC and the Republic of Korea discussed joint development of APTTP for technology transfer in the Asia-Pacific Region

The Russian House of International Scientific and Technical Cooperation (RH ISTC) held a working meeting with representatives of the Republic of Korea and the Asia-Pacific Centre for Technology Transfer (APCTT). The meeting took place on September 17, 2025, and was aimed at discussing the concept and further steps for creating the Asia and Pacific Technology Transfer Platform (APTTP), implemented jointly with RC «Complex Systems».

From the APCTT side, Mr. Soohyung Kim, Coordinator for Economic Affairs, participated in the discussion. The Russian delegation was headed by Anastasia Ryabukhina, Head of the Center for International Projects and Initiatives and Coordinator for Cooperation with UN ESCAP, Sergey Kasyanov, Head of the International Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer, Mikhail Shepovalov, Deputy General Director, Olga Musikhina, Assistant to the General Director, Elizaveta Solonichenkova, Public Relations Coordinator, and RH ISTC representative in South Korea Kim Kyung Jung. From the Korean side, Mr. Seung-Ho Lee, CEO, DeltaTech Korea, Ltd., was present.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the role of national coordination centers ensuring data verification and validation, as well as issues of data security, interconnection with existing platforms, and the project's financial sustainability.

The Korean side shared their experience in managing innovation portals, emphasizing the importance of intermediaries in the technology transfer ecosystem and the need for professional training of technology transfer agents. It was proposed to include private business representatives among the platform's key users, especially those seeking innovative solutions.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint work, exchange technical information and experience, and prepare a detailed platform development project for discussion at the third working group session in November 2025 and subsequent presentation at the APCTT Governing Council in Russia in December 2025.
This initiative aims to create a unified digital space for effective technology transfer and development of international scientific and technical cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, promoting innovation commercialization and achieving sustainable development goals.
