The first meeting of the International Activities Council of the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators

On September 18, the first meeting of the International Activities Council of the all-Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators (VOIR) was held at the Russian House of International Scientific and Technical Cooperation (RH ISTC). The meeting was chaired by Dmitry Protasovsky, Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of VOIR and CEO of RH ISTC. The Council was established by the decision of the Presidium of the Central Council of VOIR.

The co-chairs of the Council included Yuri Panov, Rector of Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting; Sergey Kurasov, Rector of Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts (Stroganov University); Yuri Marfin, Rector of the Pacific National University; and Nikolay Toivonen, Rector of Melitopol State University. During the meeting, the co-chairs presented proposals for developing VOIR international agenda.
The Council focuses on identifying and developing priority areas of VOIR international activities, fostering a professional community in the field of international scientific and technical cooperation in science, technology, invention, and innovation and, additionally, on promoting domestic inventive and rationalization activities abroad.

The Council meeting was actively attended by leaders of regional VOIR organizations, representatives of higher education organizations, and scientific institutes. Additionally, the Russian-African Network University (RAFU), which includes 63 Russian and 31 African organizations, and the Center for Project Management of The Research and Education Center “North”, bringing together 23 scientific organizations, 32 companies from the real sector, and 13 universities, joined the Council's work.

As one of the tools for regional support and integration with other countries in the fields of science, technology, innovation, invention, and innovation, the Chairman of the Council, Dmitry Protasovsky, presented the project “Catalog of Export-Oriented Technologies and High-Tech Services”. The main objectives in implementing the project will be creating a single point of access to technological solutions and innovations for civilian purposes, promoting the development of non-raw material exports in Russian Federation, and assisting Russian regions in developing technological exports.
Participants of the meeting proposed to include in the Council's agenda the organization and conduction of events focused on promoting domestic invention and innovation activities in foreign countries.

To ensure the effective implementation of international cooperation, the Council is represented by divisions that encompass international associations and organizations such as BRICS, SCO, ESCATO, ASEAN, inventive and business communities of Vietnam, India, Iran, China, and also countries from Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and, of course, the CIS.
During the meeting, a work plan for the Council until the end of the year was presented. The first regional field event is already scheduled for October. In December, the international conference “Technologies for the Rational Use of Natural Resources” with participation from representatives of the Asia-Pacific Technology Transfer Center will be held, as well as the second meeting of the VOIR International Activities Council. The participants of the Council demonstrated their readiness to engage in the work and to prepare a draft roadmap for integrating regions into the international technological agenda.

The Council is operated by the Russian House of International Scientific and Technical Cooperation and invites inventors, innovators, representatives of universities, and industrial partners to collaborate on promoting Russian technologies in international markets.
